Break in the Clouds

from $55.00

Break in the Clouds was created in 2004, among the turmoil of the aftermath of my Mothers’ death from cancer, and the beauty of my blossoming relationship with my partner Albert. This time was such a juxtaposition of the worst and the best of what life has to offer. This piece illustrates my joy and exhilaration over my new love splashed in red across the blackness of loss. Purple was my mothers’ favorite color, and looking back I can completely understand why I chose this hue to be the prominent background color. The yellow is bursting through the gray, like the sun after a storm, promising new chances and possibilities.
